IPl Purple Cap List: The Indian Premier League (IPL) all-time purple cap is recorded in the name of Yuzvendra Chahal. Yuzvendra Chahal has taken a total of 187 wickets in IPL. Dwayne Bravo and Harshal Patel hold the record for the most wickets in a season of IPL. Dwayne Bravo took 32 wickets in a season in IPL 2013 and Harshal Patel equalled his record in the 2021 IPL. In terms of wickets, Harshal Patel had equalled Bravo, but according to the rules of IPL, Dwayne Bravo is at number-1, because he took 32 wickets at a better economy rate than Harshal in 2013.

2008: Sohail Tanvir (RR) – 22 wickets
- In the very first season of IPL i.e. 2008, Sohail Tanvir took 22 wickets in just 11 innings.
- He became the only Pakistani player to win the Purple Cap in 2008.
- At the same time, he also took 6 wickets in a match, after which for 11 years, his name remained on the record for taking the most wickets in an IPL match.
2009: RP Singh (DC) – 23 wickets
- In the second season of IPL i.e. 2009, RP Singh won the title of Purple Cap.

2016: Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH) – 23 wickets
