IPl Purple Cap List: The Indian Premier League (IPL) all-time purple cap is recorded in the name of Yuzvendra Chahal. Yuzvendra Chahal has taken a total of 187 wickets in IPL. Dwayne Bravo and Harshal Patel hold the record for the most wickets in a season of IPL. Dwayne Bravo took 32 wickets in a season in IPL 2013 and Harshal Patel equalled his record in the 2021 IPL. 2008: Sohail Tanvir (RR) – 22 wickets
- In the very first season of IPL i.e. 2008, Sohail Tanvir took 22 wickets in just 11 innings.
- He became the only Pakistani player to win the Purple Cap in 2008.
- At the same time, he also took 6 wickets in a match, after which for 11 years, his name remained on the record for taking the most wickets in an IPL match.
2009: RP Singh (DC) – 23 wickets
