Manchester Chinese New Year 2025: Check Full List of Road Closures. Chinese and Lunar New Year activities will take place in the city center this weekend. Manchester’s Chinatown will celebrate Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival and Lunar New Year, on February 1 and 2.

The two-day celebration of the Year of the Snake will feature red lanterns, music, performances, and family-friendly activities in the city center. A magnificent traditional dragon, acrobatic acts, dancers, and drummers make the dragon parade one of the most anticipated spectacles.
