Khel Ratna Award 2024 Winners List: The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, government of India, today announced the National Sports Awards 2024 (January 2). The awardees will receive the sports awards from the president of India, Draupadi Murmu, at a special ceremony held on 17th January 2025 (Friday) at 11 am at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The special thing was that it was decided to give the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award to 4 players. Of the 32 players who have been awarded the Arjuna Award, 17 were para athletes. It’s a record statistic.

Khel Ratna has been given this time to 4 players, including Manu Bhaker and D Gukesh. Apart from Manu Bhaker and D Gukesh, hockey player’sarpanch Sahab’ captain Harmanpreet Singh and para athlete Praveen Kumar have also been given the Khel Ratna award. 2. Shri Harmanpreet Singh

Shri Harmanpreet Singh is a legendary Indian hockey dragflicker and forward. Born in Punjab on January 6, 1996, he has been a key player for India since his 2015 debut. Harmanpreet became famous after helping India win the 2016 Junior World Cup. He is a prominent international hockey player due to his tremendous penalty corners and tactical understanding.

He has led the national squad to several major victories, including a Tokyo 2020 Olympics bronze medal. Harmanpreet is one of India’s best hockey players due to his passion and play.

3. Shri Praveen Kumar

Shri Praveen Kumar is a successful Indian para-athlete in javelin and discus. Born in Uttar Pradesh on March 2, 1998, he has surmounted several obstacles to succeed in sports. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, Praveen won a silver medal in the men’s javelin throw F64, demonstrating his talent and determination. Despite his infirmity, he loved athletics.

Praveen’s commitment to training and competing has inspired many Indian and international athletes. He breaks barriers in para-athletics and promotes disability inclusion and support.

4. Ms. Manu Bhaker

Indian pistol shooter Manu Bhaker is famous. Born in Haryana on February 18, 2002, she became famous after winning gold medals at shooting tournaments, including the ISSF World Cup. At 16, Manu became the youngest Indian shooter to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Her precision and poise under duress make her a major global competitor.

Manu has won medals in World Cups and Asian Championships in addition to Commonwealth Games. Her accomplishments have made her a top athlete and inspired young Indian shooters to chase their aspirations.
