Electoral Bonds List 2024: Full list of Donors And Recipient Parties. The State Bank of India (SBI) had submitted the data of electoral bonds to the Election Commission after the strictness of the Supreme Court. The Election Commission released the list of companies making the highest donations through electoral bonds on its official website on Thursday (14 March 2024) evening. The most important thing is that the names of two of the country’s largest companies, Adani Group and Reliance Industries, did not appear in this list. Electoral Bond Data of the State Bank of India (SBI) had given an affidavit to the Election Commission after the order of the Supreme Court. The affidavit contains the names of companies that bought electoral bonds and political parties that received donations.
Data made public by the Election Commission has revealed the names of several big companies buying electoral bonds. These include Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited, Vedanta Limited, Torrent Power, Apollo Tyres etc.
Electoral Bonds List: What is an Electoral Bond?
In the year 2017, the Central Government announced the Electoral Bond Scheme. It was legally implemented on 29 January 2018. The government said that this scheme has been brought in to bring ‘clean’ money in electoral funding and to increase ‘transparency’. Electoral bonds of different amounts are issued from 29 branches of SBI. This amount can range from one thousand to one crore rupees. Anybody can buy it and give it to the political party of their choice.
