List of top five big winners and losers of Delhi elections 2025

Here is the list of the top 5 winners and losers of the Delhi election 2025:

Winners:

1. Parvesh Verma:

Parvesh Verma, son of former Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma, defeated Kejriwal by 4,089 votes in New Delhi. Verma is a feisty leader and CM frontrunner.

2. Kapil Mishra:

The former AAP leader, now a staunch critic, won Karawal Nagar by over 23,000 votes. The strategy worked when BJP replaced Mishra with existing MLA Mohan Singh Bisht. The identical seat went to Mishra on AAP in 2015.

3. Mohan Singh Bisht:

Bisht won the Muslim-dominated Mustafabad, a constituency hardest damaged by the 2020 Delhi riots, despite being replaced by Mishra. Nearly 40% of Mustafabad’s population is Muslim.

4. Kailash Gahlot:

The former AAP leader who joined BJP before elections won Bijwasan by 11,276 votes. AAP’s political goals had trumped public benefit, Gehlot stated while leaving.

5. Amanatullah Khan:

The fiery AAP politician defeated BJP’s Manish Chaudhary by 23,639 votes in Okhla. His third seat win.

6. Atishi:

Kalkaji defeated BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress’s Alka Lamba to comfort the departed Delhi chief minister. Atishi won despite her party’s loss and anti-incumbency.

7. AAP leader Imran Hussain:

AAP leader Imran Hussain won the seat by 29,823 votes in Muslim-dominated Ballimaran.

Losers

Arvind Kejriwal:

The feisty AAP leader had a busy 2024. The entire jail-to-bail odyssey failed to win him sympathy. Kejriwal failed to spark a pro-AAP tsunami in Delhi after resigning as chief minister too late. Kejriwal lost New Delhi and the region where AAP has dominated since the beginning.

Manish Sisodia:

Like Kejriwal, the AAP No. 2 failed this election. Sisodia stood in for the AAP on bail for months. Moving him from Patparganj to Jangpura was another AAP mistake. He almost lost the seat to BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah by 675 votes.

Somnath Bharti:

Former AAP minister Somnath Bharti lost Malviya Nagar to BJP’s Satish Upadhyay by 2,131 votes.

Ramesh Bidhuri:

Another fiery BJP leader, Bidhuri, stood for Delhi CM. He lost against Atishi from Kalkaji by 3,521 votes.

Saurabh Bharadwaj:

Another famous AAP candidate lost the election. He lost Greater Kailash to BJP’s Shikha Roy by 3,188 votes.

Satyender Jain:

Bailed out, Jain lost Shakur Basti this year. Karnail Singh of the BJP defeated him by nearly 20,000 votes.
