Delhi New Cabinet Ministers List 2025: On Tuesday, the BJP named first-time MLA Rekha Gupta the new Chief Minister of the national capital, ending the 11-day wait. BJP defeated the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP in recent elections and returned to power after 26 years. After beating Kejriwal in the New Delhi assembly seat, BJP leader Parvesh Verma will join the cabinet together with Manjinder Singh Sirsa (Rajouri Garden), Ravindra Kumar Indraj (Bawana), Kapil Mishra (Karawal Nagar), Ashish Sood (Janakpuri), and Pankaj Kumar Singh.

Who is Rekha Gupta?
Rekha Gupta, a BJP leader associated with student politics, ABVP and RSS, was born on 19 July 1974 in Nandgarh village, Julana sub-division, Jind district, Haryana. When she was two years old, her family shifted to Delhi.
Rekha Gupta started her political journey in 1992 through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi. In 1996-97 she became the president of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) and effectively raised issues involving student interests.
In 2003-2004, she was the national secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha Delhi and from 2004 to 2006. Rekha Gupta was elected in the 2007 Delhi councillor election from North Pitampura (Ward 54). She was re-elected in the 2012 Delhi councillor election from North Pitampura (Ward 54). She has also served as general secretary of Mahila Morcha and member of the national executive in BJP Delhi.

Two years ago, she was the BJP candidate for the mayoral seat in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, but she lost to AAP’s Shelly Oberoi. She will be the 9th and fourth female chief minister of Delhi. Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit and Atishi have been the chief ministers of Delhi.
Rekha Gupta defeated AAP’s Bandana Kumari in the Shalimar Bagh seat in the 2025 assembly election by a margin of 29,595 votes. However, Rekha Gupta had earlier lost to Vandana Kumari in the last two elections, but this time she won. Rekha Gupta is married to Manish Gupta. Manish is a businessman.
