BJP Jammu and Kashmir Candidates Full List 2024:Â The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released a revised list of candidates for the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. The names of 15 candidates have been announced in the first list.Earlier on Monday, the BJP released a list of 44 candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir elections. However, the list was later withdrawn. Now it has been released again. But the list of 15 candidates for the first phase has been released.
According to sources, many senior BJP leaders were unhappy with their names not being included in the first list, due to which the BJP had to release a fresh list. Elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases.In the list released earlier, many big leaders of the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir were not given tickets.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Dr. Nirmal Singh, was also present on the occasion. Nirmal Singh had won the Billawar assembly seat in 2014. Former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta was also denied a ticket.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh’s brother, Devender Rana, is the BJP candidate from Nagota. Rana had left the National Conference and joined the BJP. Two Kashmiri Pandits were also given tickets. In the BJP’s earlier list, the party had fielded Kashmiri Pandits from two seats in the Kashmir Valley. Veer Saraf will contest from Shangus-Anantnag East, and Ashok Bhatt from Habbakadal.

Election Dates
The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections to be held in 90 seats in the state. Jammu and Kashmir will go to polls on September 18, September 25 and October 1. Assembly elections in the security-sensitive Union Territory will be held in 3 phases. The results of the assembly elections will be out on October 4. Polling will be held in 24 seats in the first phase, 26 seats in the second phase and 40 seats in the third phase.
In the first phase, elections will be held on seven seats.
- Pampore, Tral, Pulwama, Rajpora, Zainapora, Shopian, DH Pora, Kulgam, Devsar, Dooru, Kokernag (ST) Anantnag West, Anantnag, Srigufwara, Bijbehara, Shangus-Anantnag East, Pahalgam, Inderwal, Kishtwar, Padder, Nagseni, Bhaderwah, Doda, Doda West, Ramban and Banihal.
These seats will go to polls in the second phase.
- Kangan (ST) Ganderbal, Hazratbal, Khanyar, Habbakadal, Lal Chowk, Channapora, Zadibal, Eidgah, Central Shalteng, Budgam, Beerwah, Khansahib, Charar, A Sharif, Chadoora, Gulabgarh (ST) Reasi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Kalakote, Sunderbani, Nowshera, Rajouri (ST) Budhal (ST) Thannamandi (ST) Surankote (ST) Poonch Haveli, Mendhar (ST).
Voting on these seats will be held in the third phase
