Champions Trophy 2025 Awards Winners List: India won the Champions Trophy for the record third time by four wickets over New Zealand. Ravindra Jadeja scored the winning runs in the penultimate overs as the Blues pursued 252 runs. India was the only unbeaten team in the event, winning five straight.
After winning the toss, the Kiwis batted first, and Rachin Ravindra scored quickly. In the 8th over, Varun Chakaravarthy broke the opening stand of 57 runs in rapid time, and India’s spinners took over to limit run scoring. New Zealand scored 251 runs for seven wickets after batting well.
The Kiwis reached a competitive total with to half-centuries from Michael Bracewell and Daryl Mitchell.
Rohit Sharma led the run chase with a half-century off 41 balls and a century opening stand with Shubman Gill. India lost quick wickets in the middle overs but always led the chase. In the tough run chase, Rohit scored 76 runs while Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya contributed. Ravindra Jadeja hit the winning runs.
The Champions Trophy’s leading run-scorer, Rachin Ravindra, was named player of the tournament, while Rohit Sharma was named player of the match for his brilliant opening innings performance.
