Delhi Chief Ministers List 2025: The NCT of Delhi chief minister leads the government. The lieutenant governor is Delhi’s de jure head, but the chief minister is its de facto leader, according to the Indian Constitution. The lieutenant governor normally invites the majority party to form the government after Delhi Legislative Assembly elections.
On the lieutenant governor’s recommendation, the president of India chooses the chief minister, whose council of ministers reports to the legislature. The chief minister has a five-year, unlimited term because the assembly trusts them.
