26 January Republic Day Gallantry Award List 2025: Tomorrow, January 26, Republic Day will be celebrated across the country. From Rashtrapati Bhavan to the Dhikr Path, there will be beautiful tableaus of many states. Gallantry awards have also been announced for Republic Day.This year, 942 soldiers will be awarded the gallantry awards.The list includes the names of several police officers, fire officers, Home Guards and civil protection service personnel and officers.
According to media reports, 95 soldiers will be honoured with gallantry awards, 101 with the President’s Medal, and 746 with gallantry awards for Meritorious Service. Most of the gallantry awards will be given to those deployed in Jammu and Kashmir, the North East and Naxal-affected areas.
A total of 942 personnel of police, fire, home guard & civil defense (HG&CD) and correctional services have been awarded gallantry and service medals on the occasion of Republic Day 2025.

The Republic Day Gallantry Award List 2025 was announced on January 24, 2025. A total of 942 personnel from Police, Fire, Home Guard & Civil Defence, and Correctional Services were awarded gallantry and service medals. Here are some key highlights:

- Fire Service: 17 recipients
- Regions: 28 from Left Wing Extremism-affected areas, 28 from Jammu & Kashmir, 3 from North-East, and 36 from other regions

Medals for gallantry (GM) are awarded on the grounds of the rare conspicuous act of gallantry and conspicuous act of gallantry, respectively, in saving life and property, or in preventing crime or arresting criminals; the risk incurred is estimated with due regard to the obligations and duties of the officer concerned.
Among the majority of the 95 gallantry awards, 28 personnel from left-wing extremist-affected areas, 28 personnel from the Jammu & Kashmir region, 03 personnel from the north-east, and 36 personnel from other regions are being awarded for their gallantry.
Medal for Gallantry (GM):
- Out of 95 Medals for Gallantry (GM), 78 police personnel and 17 fire service personnel have been awarded GM, respectively.
SERVICE MEDALS
- The President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) is awarded for a special distinguished record in service, and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) is awarded for valuable service characterized by resourcefulness and devotion to duty.
- Out of 101 President’s Medals for Distinguished Service (PSM), 85 have been awarded to police service, 05 to fire service, 07 to civil defense and home guard service, and 04 to correctional service.
- Out of 746 Medals for Meritorious Service (MSM), 634 have been awarded to police service, 37 to fire service, 39 to civil defense and home guard service, and 36 to correctional service.
